Exit therapist

i am having quite a bit of trouble leaving and fading.

does anyone have recommendations of an exit therapist?

it doesn't matter where they are located, i need to get out physically, mentally, and emotionally.

i met an old friend last evening, a great guy, an xjw for longer than me.. during a conversation about our experiences since fading (neither of us are da'd or anything) we got to talking about the young jw's.. his wife is still in, and he has two lovely daughters who he is trying to teach the art of critical thinking so that they can make the right choice in the future.. what worries him though is that he is convinced almost all young jw's do not give a "proverbial" if it is the truth or not, they simply wish to remain in it because of the social aspects, loads of friends and activities that they feel safe partaking in etc etc.. so how do you convince these young people that they would have a better life if they left ?.

they see it as losing all their friends, and being alone and trying to build new relationships, which is mostly true.. how do we convince them to make the leap ?.

should they ?.

The biggest thing taking out young people are their 'worldly' peers.

When their peers start to enjoy the freedoms that JWs are not entitled to, it magnifies how badly they are missing out. Many succumb to such normalities, or should I say 'peer pressure'.

This fact is a very good tool to use.

Paranormal Warning

i've heard some weird stories coming from jws about the paranormal.

i know about the warnings about items that come from unbelievers -- those don't interest me as much.

what i am interested in are actual experiences in stories of the paranormal you've heard or experienced yourself.

Would love to know why Demons like socks. The amount of times I have put even pairs in the washing machine and an hour later... there is an odd sock. One has simply vanished...

But seriously, in cultures where there are ghost myths there are endless stories of ghosts. In places where there are no ghost myths nobody has ever seen one.

And even with 'paranormal' experiences, if they happen in the Christian lands, the experience is associated with Christian myths. In Islamic lands it would be evidence the Qu'ràn is true.

It seems odd that people only relate these experiences to their own belief systems. I have never heard a Christian claim that a paranormal experience were the actions of a Chinese culture demon.

The standard reaction of anyone who hasn't got the answers to what they are being challenged over or the intellectual capacity to cope with debate.... in fact no fun at all...

Most disappointing. If you are going to troll you could at least put a bit of sport into it...

Interesting... so you'd rather stick to the lack of reasoning of god fearing people?

Andromeda-" I don't believe a lot of the stuff they do. Honestly I think at the end this is a personal walk. It won't really matterrible if one is a JW or not. At the end the judgement is coming from Jehovah. So I will do my best to learn and do what I can and what's within my abilities to do, to follow in Jesus's way.

How do you know that the bible and all Christian belief isn't just a big hoax by such demons, or even the god Zeus? Would explain why every religion is pretty nasty.

It doesn't take much logic to disprove the Noachian flood myth. You don't need any web sites.

JW as a secret society - a weak link in the Information Age.

in the late 1990s there was magazine article that asked the question, are jws a secret society?

obviously they said no, because they claim to be transparent to outsiders and new members.

but they really are not transparent at all.

Recent mistakes of the Governing Body contributing to the decline of JWs

they have made so many strategical mistakes it's hard to keep track.

some changes within the last decade or so that are contributing to declining numbers of jws:.

1. elimination of book study groups, the most informal, enjoyable and sociable of the jw meetings, contributed to loss of sense of community among jws.. 2. policy of consolidating kingdom halls.

I think using the internet was a big mistake. To have to go online to get your 'spiritual food' is so dangerous because of how much negative exposure there is out there.

The societies voice is only one among the crowds of people who are out to expose them for what they are. Easy pickings.
